Georgia Duren

Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Cryer Funeral Home in Obion, with the Revs. Don Robinson, Scott Fields and Cody Pritchard officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery near Hornbeak.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Simrell, Roger Roberts, Jason Roberts and her grandsons: Paul Duren, John Duren and Mark Fuqua.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 9, 1922, daughter of the late Charles Lee and Nannie Bell (Davis) Nix. She was the widow of Paul Duren, who died Aug. 19, 1971. A homemaker, she was a member of Aldridge Baptist Church for more than 60 years and taught Sunday school there for many years. She was also a member of Hornbeak Lodge 196 Woodmen of the World. She kept children in her home for working parents.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Anna Duren of Obion; three grandchildren and their spouses, Diana and Mark Fuqua of Pontotoc, Miss., Paul and Sharon Duren of Obion and John and Shanna Duren of Troy; six great-grandchildren, Katelyn Fuqua and Wesley Fuqua, both of Pontotoc, Connor Hamblin and Tyler Duren, both of Obion, and Kaylee Duren and Isaiah Duren, both of Troy; three sisters, Hattie Matheny of Troy, Rhetta Turner of Bald Knob, Ark., and Louise McMahon of Conway, Ark.; two sisters-in-law, Annie B. Valla of Chicago and Shirley Duren of Florence, Ala.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Ann Duren; and two sisters, Hessie Johnson and Dortha Mitchell.
