Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1 p.m. at White-Ranson Funeral Hone, with burial to follow in East View Cemetery. Dr. Bobby Williams and Bro. Terry Council will officiate.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5-8 p.m. today.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Leonard Todd and all the retired truck drivers for Reelfoot Packing Co., Jackie Joyner, Milton Cleek, Jim Dickson and Alan Thompson.
The family requests memorials be made to Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope.
He was born July 12, 1933, in Obion County, son of the late Burney and Lottie (Ragsdale) Pinion. He married Rebecca Sue Cochran on June 2, 1951, and she died Dec. 26, 2003.
He was a retired truck driver for Reelfoot Packing Co., with 28 years of service, and was a member of Mt. Ararat Cumberland Presbyterian Church for over 50 years.
He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Susie and Mike Muse of Union City and Patsy and Don Bailey of Union City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip and Velma Pinion of College Grove and Steve and Regina Pinion of Union City; his grandchildren and their spouses, Scott and Sherri Muse of Union City, Jesse and Amy Muse of Union City, Cathy and Carlos Giron of Mayfield, Ky., Chris and Kim Bailey of Union City, Wendy and Steve Ping of Union City, Chip and Mandy Pinion of Murfreesboro, Chad and Tammy Pinion of Murfreesboro, Joey Pinion of Union City and Carrie Pinion of Union City; 14 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Peggy Cook of Union City and Norma Davis of South Fulton; and a brother, James Pinion of Union City.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Margaret Pinion, Mary Evelyn Pinion and Ella Mae Fulcher; a brother, Vernell Pinion; a daughter-in-law, Linda Pinion; and an aunt, Luella Ragsdale.
