Alma McDonald

Services were Nov. 15, with interment at Chapel Hill in Grand Rapids.
Pallbearers were Norman Edmaiston, Duane McDonald, Alex Mitchell, David Mitchell, Lucas Vanderveen, Houston Needham, Shaun Edmaiston and Dusty Plomondon. Honorary pallbearer was Kevin Edmaiston. Memorial Alternatives Funeral Home in Grand Rapids was in charge  of arrangements.
She was born Feb. 25, 1929, in Leoda, Miss. She moved to Grand Rapids from her home in Obion County in 1967 and she married Robert McDonald in July 1979. He passed away in 1986.
She was a life member of Creston Post 3020 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Grand Rapids.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Eugene and Marge Edmaiston of Denver, Ruby (York) and James Gammons of Lake St. Louis, Mo., Mary (Edmaiston) Jackson of Decatur, Ala., Carolyn (York) Needham of Grand Rapids, Sharon (Edmaiston) and Mark Shute of Memphis, Norman and Dodie Edmaiston and Duane McDonald, all of Grand Rapids, and Peggy Becker of Washington, Mo.; two sisters, Lil Lungrin of Carrollton, Miss., and Bessie Hollie of Grand Rapids; her brother, Roy Hollie of Mobile, Ala.; 18 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Gregory Keith Edmaiston; two daughters, Agnes (York) Weronko and Gwenda (York) Plamondon; and two brothers, Robert Hollie and Cecil Hollie.
