Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jerry Leggett officiating. Burial will follow in East View Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 a.m. until the hour of services Tuesday.
Pallbearers will be Chuck Yates, Will Yates, Wendell Duke, Cameron Duke, Damon Shore and Grover Stepp.
Mrs. Yates was born July 21, 1942, in Ridgely, daughter of the late S.B. and Ernestine (Wright) Step. She married Bill Yates July 19, 1957. He died June 28, 2011. She had been employed at the former Troy Manufacturing for many years.
She is survived by three daughters and her son-in-law, Liz Yates, Lynn Yates and Lisa and Wendell Duke, all of Union City; her son and daughter-in-law, Chuck and Melissa Yates of South Fulton; her brother, Grover Stepp of Camden; nine grandchildren, Will Yates, Benjamin Yates, Miranda Yates, Cameron Duke and Nathan Duke, all of Union City, Kimberly Storey of Troy, Lauren Yates and Noah Yates, both of South Fulton, and Damon Yates of Topeka, Kan.; three great-grandchildren, Brayden Storey of Troy, Gracelyn Yates of Union City and Karter Yates of Kenton; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Chris Yates; two grandsons, Michael Jeremiah Yates and Joshua Levi Yates; and two brothers, Billy Gene Stepp and Harold Stepp.
