Shaun Kern

A celebration of life service will be 1 p.m. Friday at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lexington, with the Rev. David Bourne officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 9 a.m. until service time at the church Friday.
Kerr Brothers Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
Honorary pallbearers will be Red Lee, Hubbard Panther, Gary Greer, Sean Greer, Tom Scott, Allen Lambert, Guy Williamson, Darwin Crooks, David Points, Jakie Hartgrove, William Snodgrass, Tim Henslee, Jacob Eubank, Enoch Eubank, Roger Harris, Mike Johnson, Brent Hopper, Justin Lattus, Joe Pat Covington, Bradley Stevenson, Scott Lannum and Greg Williams.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
He was born Sept. 9, 1968, in Kassel, West Germany, the son of Ralph D. and Merilyn (Henry) Kern of Mt. Sterling, Ky.  A graduate of Murray (Ky.) State University, he was a heavy equipment sales representative for Rudd Equipment Co.  
He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Shaun enjoyed golf, fishing, all sports and playing cards and was known for being a practical joker. He especially loved going to his favorite beach, Topsail Island Beach, where he would spend time with his family and friends.  
Besides his wife and parents, Shaun leaves behind to meet again his two sons, Hogan Kern and Seth Kern; his daughter, Sadie Kern; his sister and brother-in-law, Stacy and Mike Johnson of Batavia, Ohio; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Roger and Jean Harris of Union City; two sisters-in-law and their husbands, Jessica and Justin Lattus of Union City and Whitney and Brent Hopper of Dresden; his aunt, Frances C. (Kern) Eubank; three nieces, Savannah Lattus, Tilley Hopper and Emmylou Hopper; two nephews, Fischer Johnson and McCoy Lattus; and more friends than can be comprehended.
