Carolyn Strickler

She was a native Louisvillian who accomplished much in her too short time with us. Carolyn graduated with honors from Sacred Heart Academy as a member of National Honor Society and received her B.A. in Anthropology Cum Laude from Rollins College in Winter Park, Fla. She was pursuing a graduate degree in Public Health from U of L and Claremont College in California.
Carolyn deeply loved and genuinely cared about issues to improve peoples’ lives, nutrition and our world. She was a health food advocate and held an advanced yoga degree. Her passion shown brightest in her Bodhi Vegan cookbook she was publishing. Carolyn was one of the kindest souls any of us will ever meet.
She was greeted in heaven by her maternal grandparents, Charles H. Dishman III and Carolyn Critchlow; her step-grandparents, John T. and Katherine T. Dougherty, along with her uncle, Charles Hunter Dishman IV.
Carolyn’s memory will always be treasured by her parents, Susan D. and John T. Dougherty Jr., Frank and Patti Strickler; her identical twin sister, Catharine Bayes Strickler; brothers, F. Hunter Strickler and Joseph A. Dougherty; and step-brothers, Alexander H, J. Hunt (Ashley), Samuel H, Dougherty, Parker, Shelby, (Lindsey) and Taylor Little; her grandparents, Frank P. and Catharine Strickler; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, friends, and last but not least Beau and Buddy, her faithful pets.
Her funeral service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at the residence of John and Susan Dougherty, 29 River Hill Road. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the residence. Arrangements under the direction of Pearson’s Funeral Home in Louisville.
