Duane Snyder

He was the brother and brother-in-law of Virginia “Ginny” and Jim Suter of Union City.
Burial will be at Lone Oak Cemetery in Carson City and a memorial service will be held at Carson Masonic Lodge No. 1 at a future date. Autumn Funerals and Cremations in Carson City is in charge of arrangements.

He was born Nov. 16, 1936, in Akron, Ohio, moving to Stow, Ohio, at a young age. He graduated from Stow High School in 1954 and briefly attended Kent State University before joining the U.S. Navy in 1955. Following his discharge, he moved to Fairbanks, Alaska, where he worked for the Satellite Tracking Station at the University of Alaska. In 1967, he moved to California and spent the next few years working in the Los Angeles area. He became active in Masonry during this period and was a member of the Van Nuys Lodge, where he held several positions.
Moving to Carson City in 1994, he continued his Masonic activities with the Carson City Lodge. At the time of his death, he was the secretary of Lewis Chapter Royal Arch Masons, Recorder of Capital Council Cryptic Masons and E. C. Peterson Commandery Knights Templar. He also served many times as Worthy Patron of Esther Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lynn V. and Elma V. Snyder; and his brother, James D. Snyder, all of Stow.
