Visitation was planned for Brentwood United Methodist Church today from 2:30-5:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Tabernacle United Methodist Church in Haywood County Thursday at 11 a.m., with interment following at Tabernacle Cemetery.
The family requests that memorials be sent to Tabernacle Campground Foundation, in care of Susanna Martinez, 770 Ross Road, Brownsville, TN 38012.
She was born Aug. 8, 1932, in Haywood County, daughter of the late Pattie Laura (Fletcher) and Nicholas Perkins Thornton Jr.
Mrs. Cavin was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, F. G. “Moe” Cavin Jr.
She is survived by four children and their spouses, Virginia Marie Cavin, Sarah Frances (Cavin) and Chad McDonald, John Thomas and Sherrie Cavin and Carol Thornton Cavin-Dillon and David Dillon; nine grandchildren, Mark G. Snyder, Grant L. Snyder, Barrett C. McDonald, Sarah R. McDonald, Nicholas A. Cavin, Catherine G. Cavin, Caroline R. Cavin, John Tate Dillon and Martha C. Dillon; her brother and his wife, Robert Earl and Betsy Thornton; and two sisters, Pattie Marie Crafton and Ginger Thornton Hathcock.
