Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, with Dr. Bobby Williams officiating, at Mt. Ararat Cemetery near Troy.
Friends may call from noon until time to go to the cemetery at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy.
Pallbearers will be Brent Connell, Kenneth Cary, Shea Freeman, Jimmy Smith, Frankie Cook and Caleb Joost.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
He was born Oct. 14, 1976, in Obion County, son of Jerry Cook and Judy (Laster) Smith, both of Troy. A 1995 graduate of Obion County Central High School, he also earned a diploma from Dyersburg State Community College in 2004. He was a member of Church of Christ.
He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Lamonica and Brent Connell of Martin; his niece, Courtney Connell of Martin; his aunt and uncle, Betty and Dan Montgomery of Samburg; his uncle, Gordon Laster of Muskogee, Okla.; and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Grady and Rosie Cook and Theodore and Gladys Laster.
