Kenneth Sawyer

Mr. Sawyer’s wish before his death was to have his body donated to the Forensic Anthropology Center at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville.
A memorial wrestling event in his memory will be held at W.O.W.F. Wrestling, 521 East Main St. in Newbern at 8 p.m. Saturday.
Memorial contributions may take the form of donations to the Department of Anthropology, 250 South Stadium Hall, Knoxville, TN 37996-0720.
He was born Jan. 1, 1950, in Humboldt, son of the late Malcolm Eugene and Annie Bernice (Reed) Sawyer. He was a retired employee of Kohler in Union City and was an avid wrestling fan. He was a Cumberland Presbyterian.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Jamie (Cullum) Sawyer of Union City; his brother, Rayburn Sawyer of Kenton; two step-granddaughters; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
