Dr. Andrew Nelson

Dr. Andrew P. Nelson, 85, of South Fulton died Aug. 21, 2013, at his residence.
He was a member of Smith Street Church of Christ and the Fulton Country Club. He was a graduate of the University of Tennessee Medical College in Memphis. He practiced medicine in Fulton from 1961-1989 and was a former Chief of Staff at Parkway Regional Hospital.
He is survived by one son, Andrew P. (Cindy) Nelson Jr. of North Augusta,S.C.; one daughter, Eve (Bill) Nelson Dodson of Littleton, Colo.; three grandchildren, Andrew Nelson III, Jacob Nelson and Anna Kate Nelson, all of North Augusta, S.C.; and a special friend, Mary Reams of South Fulton.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Sue Adcock Nelson; one brother, Martin Young Nelson; and his parents, Evelyn (Young) and Charles Tate Nelson.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Hornbeak Funeral Chapel in Fulton, with interment in the Obion County Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call the funeral home 9 a.m. Saturday until the funeral hour.
