Frank Werner

The Lord hath prepared a place for Francis A. “Frank” Werner and called him home after a long battle with cancer on Aug. 9, 2013, at the age of 81 years.
Francis was born Feb. 12, 1932, the son of the late Joseph and Mignone Werner. Frank graduated from Hickman High School in 1950 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1951 at the outbreak of the Korean War. After serving four years he came to Saginaw, Mich., and worked for Saginaw Steering Gear until his retirement in 1986. Since that time, Frank has enjoyed working in the yard and tinkering in his garage. He was a devoted Catholic and a long time member of St. Christopher Catholic  Church in Bridgeport, Mich.
Surviving Francis are his wife, Roberta Werner of Saginaw; his daughter,Paula Werner and son, Douglas Werner, both of Huntington, Ind.; two step-children, Bobbi Sue (Carlos) Saunders of Saginaw and Brandi (Robert) Coats of Essexville, Mich.; his grandson and several step-grandchildren; his brother, Paul Ed Werner of Hickman, Ky.; his sister, Mary Jo Lattus of Hickman; several nieces and nephews.
Frank was preceded in death by his sister, Anna Terrett.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hickman. Burial will follow in the Hickman City Cemetery. Friends may call at Sacred Heart Catholic Church from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday and on Thursday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass. Prayers will be at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Strong Funeral Home in Hickman is in charge of arranegments.
