Elva Mayse

Services were set for 11 a.m. today at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Bobby Stewart was to officiate. Burial was to follow in Elbridge Cemetery.
Pallbearers were to be her grandsons.

Mrs. Mayse was born Sept. 3, 1920, in Obion County, daughter of the late Frank and Ida Elizabeth (Majors) James. She married Lester Brown Mayse Jan. 29, 1938. He died Aug. 29, 1960. She had been employed at the former Troy Manufacturing and was a member of Main Street Church of Christ in Troy.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Homer Orr of Troy and Norma and Johnny Cherry of Millington; three sons and four daughters-in-law, James and Marilene Mayse of Dresden, Buryl and Joan Mayse of Millington, Glenn and Janis Mayse of Martin and Virginia Mayse of Troy; her sister, Aileen Dunn of Dyersburg, 10 grandchildren, Ricky Orr and Michael Mayse, both of Troy, Steven Orr of Gadsden, Ala., Jean Lovell of Millington, David Mayse of Obion, Stacey Mayse of Colorado, Jason Mayse of Memphis, Brandon Mayse of Martin, Bradley Mayse of Dresden and Tiffany Crews of Union City; 15 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Mayse; her grandson, Ronnie Mayse; her step-grandson, Shannon Stepp; her great-granddaughter, Stevie Grace Orr; her sister, Ruby Mosley; and four brothers, Robert James, Henry Thomas James, Harry James and Leonard James.
