UTM piles up totals
to put away Cougars

UT Martin exploded for season-highs in multiple offensive categories Monday in a 14-9 victory over Mid-Continent at Skyhawk Field.
The Skyhawks (5-6) banged out 20 hits on their way to 14 runs. The Skyhawks generated four runs in three separate innings, scoring in five of their eight innings in all.
Byron Johann laced a career-high four hits and four RBI, while scoring twice himself. Grant Glasser also drove in four runs while collecting a pair of hits at the dish.
On the mound, sophomore Dalton Potts won his second straight decision, tossing a career-high five innings.
Sunday, Glasser hit a walk-off single to lead UT Martin to a thrilling 3-2 victory over North Dakota State in the first game of a doubleheader at Skyhawk Field. In the seven-inning nightcap, the Skyhawks fell 5-0 to the Bison out of the Summit League.
Glasser and Sorensen led the way for UT Martin offensively, each accounting for three hits in two games.

Skyhawks win pair
to open ‘Rebel’ play

Kenzi Tate, a pitcher for the UT Martin softball team, struck out 10 batters and allowed five hits en route to a 5-0 shutout over Holy Cross in the Rebel Spring Games on Monday.
Leah Taylor had a pair of RBI and three stolen bases. Tate, Kayla Wade and Becca Williams had one double each in the game.
Tate and Stephanie Nidiffer were also credited with an RBI each.
Casey Vincent made the best of one run as she pitched seven innings and struck out four batters to lead UTM to a 1-0 victory over Sacred Heart Monday morning.
Sam McClure drove in the Skyhawks only run of the game with a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third inning. Kelsey Dixon had two hits in the game.

Relay golf tourney
slated for Fulton

Fulton Country Club will host the inaugural Golfing For A Cure tournament to support Relay For Life on April 6.
Entry fee is $200 per four-person team, and the deadline to enter is April 1. The event will have a 50-team limit.
Tee times are 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., and lunch will be served from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tee times can be reserved by calling (731) 479-3016 or 627-4225.
The four-person scramble will feature money prizes, door prizes, $20 mulligans, 50/50 hole-in-one and hole sponsorships for $50 each.
