Free business advice offered

A business specialist will be available from 9 a.m.-noon Thursday at the Obion County Chamber of Commerce, where he will be on hand to help aspiring entrepreneurs and existing business owners with business advice.
Denny Sumner will be on hand at the local chamber and will provide advice about business planning, financing options, marketing, customer service and cash flow.
Sumner works at the University of Tennessee at Martin Regional Entrepreneur and Economic Development Center and the Tennessee Small Business Development Center.
He recently joined the TSBDC after working more than 30 years in the banking industry as a commercial loan officer. He has taught several college classes in finance and economics and is currently teaching microeconomics at UTM. Sumner’s educational background includes an MBA and two bachelor of science degrees.
Thursday’s consultations are one-on-one, confidential and free.
The Obion County Chamber of Commerce is located at 214 East Church St. in downtown Union City.
