ATA announces promotions

Alexander Thompson Arnold CPAs recently announced several staff achievements, including three involving Union City positions.
The accounting firm, which operates an office in Union City, recently promoted Jay Davis to senior manager.
Also promoted to senior manager was Scotty Alsup of Dyersburg. Beth Bartlett of Dyersburg was promoted to manager, while Trent Duncan of Union City, Mitzi Travis of Jackson and Bill Parnell of Milan were all promoted to senior accountant.
The accounting firm also announced Ben Woods of Union City and three others — Ms. Travis of Jackson, John Young of Dyersburg and Sara Mitchell Pope of Martin — all recently passed the Uniform CPA Examination.
The Uniform CPA Examination is one of the nation’s most comprehensive examinations. Sections covered in the test include auditing and attestation, financial accounting and reporting, regulation and business environment and concepts. To be eligible to sit for the exam, candidates must have completed a minimum of 150 semester hours, which include a baccalaureate or higher degree from an academic institution recognized by the Tennessee State Board of Accountancy, with a minimum of 30 semester hours in accounting and 24 semester hours in general business subjects.
