Pleasant Hill Baptist Church news
Pleasant Hill Baptist Church news Posted: Thursday, February 7, 2013 6:00 pm Hello to everyone from Pleasant Hill. We enjoyed our Sunday school lesson with our teachers, Mark Simpson and Greg Hahn, being in class. We missed one of our most faithful members, Billy Cavin, who is still very sick at home. He has been in Volunteer Community Hospital in Martin and Cane Creek this week. Our worship service began with our musicians, Denise, Angela, Bro. Elwood, Bro. Mac and Bro. Steve, bringing a great program of gospel hymns. Our special music was by our choir singing two songs, “I Believe in a Hill Called Mount Calvary” and “It’s Still the Cross.” That was a beautiful special, Bro. Elwood! Bro. Mac brought his message from II Corinthians 10:1-6 titled, “Fighting With Spiritual Weapons.” It was great to see Deborah Doss and little Manny in our worship service. Auntie Deborah kept Manny this weekend and Bro. Elwood and Denise have had him since Monday or Tuesday, while Daniel and Emily flew to Utah for the birth of their second adopted son, Oakley Elijah Doss, who was born Wednesday, Jan. 30. He weighed 7 lbs. 10 oz. and was 19 inches long. Several classes gathered together Sunday after the early evening service at Pleasant Hill for a fellowship of food and fun and watch the Super Bowl. Bro. Steve’s youth class met at his home while the College and Career class, plus Keith Fowler and Joe Reaves class and Home Builders Class met at Tommy and Debbie Mount’s home. Our class, the “oldies, but goodies” decided to spend a nice, quiet evening at our own homes instead of party. Those wishing to correspond with Russell and Shanna Cook their address is 7616 Windwood Drive, Powell, TN 37849. Birthdays this week are Dorothy Cavin and Matt Moeller. Until next week, may God bless. None
