Jolley Springs Baptist Church news
Jolley Springs Baptist Church news Posted: Thursday, February 7, 2013 6:00 pm On Sunday, Bro. Tony Michael read from I Thessalonians 1:1-10. In this sermon our pastor told us to celebrate the power of the Gospel. At 3 p.m. we had a large crowd for the memorial service for the late Janet Tims, wife of Stanley Tims from Cottage Grove. She passed away at her home Thursday morning. Visitation was at our church. After the service, Jolley Springs provided a meal in our fellowship hall for their family and our church members. A memorial service was held at Union Friendship Baptist Church Sunday afternoon for our late friend and neighbor, Floyd Dickerson. Their church also provided a fellowship meal for the family after the service. Friends and family of Janie Crews Jones and the late Mack Jones enjoyed a delicious spaghetti supper followed by good music by The Willing Hearts group and Cathie Harris on Saturday night at Broadway Baptist Church at Martin. A love offering was taken for the Jones family to help with the expenses due to Mack’s illness. Jolley Springs Acteens will be sponsoring a Valentine banquet Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the church fellowship hall. You do not have to have a sweetheart to attend. Couples, singles and visitors of all ages are welcome to attend. Donations are appreciated and will be used for activities for the Acteens during the year. There will be a wedding shower for Phillip and Jennifer Hazelwood Sunday from 2-4 p.m. in our fellowship hall. Everyone is invited to attend. Chuck and Kelly Weisner will be celebrating the adoption of their four young children at Grace Baptist Church in Murray Ky. Saturday from 2-4 p.m. They ask that everyone come out and help them celebrate this wonderful occasion. Proud grandparents are Tommy and Ann Martin from Como. In our bulletin this week was a statement that we all need to take to heart. It said, “Alone we can do so little, together we can do so much!” None
