OWLS Conference slated Posted: Tuesday, February 5, 2013 8:00 pm Area students in sixth through 12th grades in Obion County who are interested in learning more about wildlife can attend a four-day conference this summer. The O.W.L.S. (Outdoor Wildlife Leadership and Service) Conference takes place at Land Between the Lakes in Brandon Springs May 28-31. The cost is $175 per person and includes lodging, meals and workshop materials. Topics to be taught at this year’s event include: • Wilderness Survival Skills • Dutch Oven Cooking • Canoeing • GPS/Geo Caching • Swimming, fishing and wildlife programming O.W.L.S. Conference is open to all youth currently in grades 6-12. Due to space restrictions, registration is very limited. Participation will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.
