UC J’Cettes serve local community Posted: Wednesday, January 30, 2013 8:00 pm The Union City J’Cettes is a charitable organization made up of a diverse group of local women ages 21 and older. Members help with functions and events in Obion County that not only raise money and awareness for different charities, but help benefit the community as a whole. “We enjoy having fun while doing charitable work,” a spokesman said, adding, “It is our hope that we can help to make a brighter future for tomorrow.” The ladies work in cooperation with the Union City Jaycees in promoting civic, social and educational development and welfare in Obion County. Some of the events and fundraising activities the group has been involved in are Chimes for Charity, Union City Rotary Scholarships, Obion County Hometown Walk of Hope, Obion County Corn Fest and Maggie’s Project for Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis. This year’s officers include president Crystal Davis, internal vice president Melanie Cole, external vice president Emily Gallimore, secretary Deica Disney, treasurer Michelle Bing, assistant treasurer Wendy Rice, chaplain Allison Downs and publicist Lindsay Frilling.
