LION CHEERERS LAUDED — The Dresden High School cheerleading squad was honored at Saturday night’s football banquet for another successful season, which has included a runner-up spot in the TSSAA competition and a spot in the national competition at Orlando. Receiving special awards for their efforts during the 2012 football season were (from left, sitting) CJ Greer, 4-year senior and spirit; Taylor McAlpin, 4-year senior and leadership; (standing) Kelly Meeks, most improved; Maggie Owens, 110 percent; Marissa Higgins, academics and most dependable; Belle Brackett, coaches’ award; and Joelie Reynolds, coaches’ award.
