Lola Christine Akin, 87, of Bradford, mother of Wayne Akin of Union City, died Jan. 27, 2013, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
Services are set for 2 p.m. today at Bradford First Baptist Church, with burial following in Shiloh Cemetery. The Revs. Eddie Mallonee and Don Dyer are to officiate.
Hunt Funeral Home in Bradford is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Aug. 18, 1925, in Missouri, daughter of the late John Thomas and Eula Mae (Eaul) Usery. She was the widow of R.J. Akin and was a member of Bradford First Baptist Church. She was employed as a cook at Bradford Senior Citizens Center.
Survivors also include another son, James Akin of Munford; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her son, Bobby Akin.
