Charles Glover

Charles E. Glover, 78, of Martin, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2013 at his residence.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Martin Church of Christ with Bro. Ricky Phillips officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery in Martin with Murphy Funeral Home of Martin in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 4-7 tonight (Thursday).

Glover was born Aug. 20, 1934 in Homer, Ohio, son of the late Delmar Harold and Gladys Ruth Wince Glover. He was a veteran of the United States Navy-Korea, formerly worked for Miller Lighting Corp. and retired from Hubbell Lighting Corp. with more than 44 years of employment. He was a member of Martin Church of Christ.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Rita Hankins Glover of Martin; two sons, Dan (Jennifer) Glover of Milan and David (Carolyn) Glover of Martin; one daughter, Deborah (David) Watlington of Jackson; 11 grandchildren, Lacie Ellen Glover, Crista Glover Ponder, Chad Thomas Glover, Kyle David Watlington, Ryan Charles Watlington, Paige Lauren Watlington, Alex James Watlington, Abby Gayle Glover, Garrison Thomas Glover, Victoria Caroline Glover and Emme Elizabeth Glover; and one great-grandchild, Kayson Thomas Glover.

Memorials may be made to the St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

He was also preceded in death by one brother, Kenneth Eugene Glover; and one sister, Betty Ann Glover.
