WIN FIRST MATCH

Members of the Junior Bible Quiz Team at First United Pentecostal Church recently brought home a first-place victory in the statewide competition that took place at Camp Lake Benson near Dickson. Children from 9-12 years old memorize an average of 10 verses from the book of Psalms in the Bible each week. Each month, children take part in a competition that quizzes them on what they have learned. The double elimination-style tournament will take place until June and by that time, those taking part will have learned 289 verses. Local team members include (from left) Derek Nash, Abriana Lewis, Nolan Johnson, Katie Strain and Adam Bullock. Coaches are Jeremy and Dawn Alfter.
