A Woodland Mills man was charged with reckless endangerment as the result of having two small children in his vehicle when he was arrested for DUI over the weekend.
Bradley Scott Abshire, 32, of 393 Thompson St., Union City, which is in Woodland Mills, was arrested at 6:52 p.m. Saturday on charges of driving under the influence and two counts of reckless endangerment, according to Union City Police Department reports.
A police officer reported he observed Abshire’s vehicle traveling southbound on Section Line Road at 49 mph in a 35 mph zone. He stopped the vehicle and reported he could allegedly see the driver throwing items around inside the car.
The officer reported the driver was “uncoordinated” and appeared to have a difficult time speaking or concentrating on questions and performing field sobriety tests.
According to the reports, there were two children — ages 18 months and 7 — in the back seat of the vehicle, resulting in the reckless endangerment charges.
