Completed arrangements are being announced for Martha Nell (Rogers) Dowdy, 64, of Union City, who died Jan. 17, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
There will be visitation 5-8 p.m. today at White-Ranson Funeral Home, with a second visitation following at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home in Justice, Ill., 5-8 p.m. Saturday and a chapel service at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow at Bethania Cemetery at 7701 South Archer Road in Justice.
The family requests no floral arrangements and that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis.
She was born March 27, 1948, in Haywood County, daughter of the late Julius and Eunice (Sasser) Rogers. She married Michael Dale Dowdy Aug. 15, 1981. He survives. She was a retired press operator for General Motors in Grand Rapids, Mich., where she worked for 27 years.
She is also survived by her daughter, Donna L. Stavrakis of Burbank, Ill.; two grandchildren, Sabrina Irizarry and Victoria Vega, both of Burbank; her sister, Laverne Spicer of Union City; and two brothers, Floyd Rogers of Kenton and Roy Rogers of Dyersburg.
She was also preceded in death by four sisters and her brother.
