| MAKING HISTORY — Union City junior forward Jackie Hudson pivots around Westview senior and High Point University signee Teddy Vincent during action earlier this season at the UC gymnasium. Hudson has helped the Lady Tornado program make history this season as the team was voted the No. 1 Class A team in Tennessee by the Associated Press on Monday afternoon. UC made its first-ever appearance in the poll last week, checking in at No. 2, and moved up to the No. 1 spot this week based on a win in its only game last week and a loss by previously top-ranked Jackson County. The Lady Twisters, who have handed double-A third-ranked Westview its only two losses this year and single-A 10th-ranked Lake County its only setback of the season, are 16-3 overall. UC will have a tough time holding on to the top spot this week, beginning tonight at Lake County. Union City will also host Humboldt on Friday night and entertain Paducah Tilghman on Saturday. | | | |
