James Capps, 68, of Greenfield, died Jan. 10, 2013 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Beech Springs Baptist Church in Gleason with Williams Funeral Home of Greenfield in charge of the arrangements. Burial was in Morris Cemetery in Greenfield.

Capps was born Jan. 31, 1944, son of the late James and Hettie Capps. He was a faithful member and deacon at Beech Springs Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Patricia Capps of Greenfield; two sons, Barry (Dana) Capps of Martin and Terry (Kristie) Capps of Greenfield; three grandchildren, Brett Capps, Andrew Capps and Hannah Capps; and two step-grandchildren, Cara Burnham and Ashton Burnham.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Betty Jean Capps.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
