Richard Carlton “Pork-chop” Stover II, 33, of Obion died Jan. 10, 2013, at his residence.
Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Minnick Bible Church, west of Obion. The Rev. James Robert Gunter will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Ralph Moore. Burial will follow in Minnick Bible Church Cemetery.
Cryer Funeral Home in Obion is in charge of arrangements.
Friends may call at the church Saturday, beginning at 6 p.m.
The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105; or email to donors@stjude.org.
Pallbearers will be Josh Ciaramitro, Byron Stover, Lee Stover, Harris Pitts, Glenn Stover, Kenneth Stover, Lucas Hamilton and Dru Smith.
He was born July 31, 1979, in Martin, son of Richard Carlton Stover of Obion and Barbara (Daniel) Montgomery of Pennsboro, W.Va. He was a security guard at Northwest Tennessee Correctional Facility in Tiptonville, a U.S. Marine and a member of Laurel Baptist Church in Columbia, S.C.
He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Kristen (Stover) and David Alexander of Troy; his grandparents, Freeda Stover of Obion and the late Richard Stover; his great-grandmother, Bonnie Morris of Memphis; two nieces, Tatum Alexander and Charlotte Rose Alexander, both of Troy; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Ann Daniel.
