Baby Jesus figure stolen

Baby Jesus is missing.
Someone apparently stole the baby Jesus figure from the nativity scene at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Union City.
A police officer responded Thursday to the church at 1303 East Reelfoot Ave., where the Rev. Robert Ponticello said the baby figure had been taken from the nativity scene in front of the church, according to a Union City Police Department report.
The baby Jesus figure was last seen Sunday. Police searched in the straw around the scene to see if the figure was hidden, but it could not be located.
Police estimated the value of the figure at $54, the cost for the replacement of the single piece, according to the report.
