Pleasant View Baptist Church News Posted: Thursday, January 10, 2013 6:00 pm On Wednesday, Our first song tonight was “There Shall Be Showers of Blessings.” Our song leader was Seth Fulcher and Ms. Mertie Smith played the piano. Bro Robert Pogue led our opening prayer and blessed our Bible study. Our next song was “Sweet By and By,” and our last song was “The Lily of the Valley.” Our youth sang, “I’ll Fly Away.” We then sang, “I Bowed on my Knees and Cried, Holy.” Bro Tom Koker brought his Bible study from Numbers 6:24-26 titled, “Always Pray For One Another.” We had a circle of prayer and then went to our homes. On Sunday, we started our services singing “Heavenly Sunlight.” Bro Robert Pogue read from Proverbs 2:5,6. Bro Scott Stokes led our opening prayer and blessed our Sunday school classes. Our lesson was called, “Nahum: A Message of God’s Judgment.” Bro Bobby Doughty taught our lesson, taken from Nahum 1:7-9 titled “God is a strong hold in the day of trouble.” Bro Gerald Wilkerson led our closing prayer. Our first song was, “I Will Sing the Wondrous Story.” Bro Billy came for announcements, prayers and praise reports. Our ushers, Hunter Doughty and Josh Torres, came for our offering. Hunter led the prayer and blessed the offering. Josh blessed the offering for our youth. We then sang “Life’s Railway to Heaven.” Bro Gerald sang a special, “How Great Thou Art.” What a wonderful song. Bro Billy brought his message from Romans 5:1,2 titled, “When we are justified by faith, we have peace with God.” Our song of invitation was “Just As I Am.” Bro Robert Pogue led our closing prayer. Grace Missions met immediately after service That night we had the Lord’s Supper. We went in quietly and left singing “Amazing Grace.” None
