Roy C. Fluty, 62, of Union City died at Baptist Memorial Hospital-aUnion City at 9:15 a.m. Jan. 7, 2013.
Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at White & Mahon Funeral Home in Troy, with the Rev. Paul Hensley officiating. Burial will follow in Cobb’s Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Brian Hendrix, Bryan Hazelrig, Kevin Campbell, Hunter Brady, Jack Doughten and Buddy Fluty. Honorary pallbearer will be Jeff Roberson.
He was born Aug. 2, 1950, in Obion County, son of the late Ben C. and Martha Rebecca (Calhoun) Fluty. He married the former Sharon Joy Rogers Aug. 22, 1969. She survives. He was a retired 36-year employee of the former Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in Union City. A member of Hornbeak Baptist Church, he was a third degree Mason.
He is also survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Kenny Gilliland of Union City; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronny and Regina Fluty of Troy and Dennis and Tabi Fluty of Martin; eight grandchildren, Brian Hendrix of Dyer, Bayley Fluty and Taylor Hendrix, both of Union City, Taylor Hensley and Carmen Fluty, both of Troy, and Jakob Guy, Ryley Fluty and Kaitlin Fluty, all of Martin; and his brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Carl and Kay Fluty of Hornbeak.
He was also preceded in death by his sister, Karen Roberson.
