Dorothy McKinnis

Dorothy “Dot” McKinnis, 85, of Hickman, Ky., died Jan. 4, 2013, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City.
Services were held at West Baptist Church in Hickman Sunday at 2 p.m. Burial followed in Hickman City Cemetery. Strong Funeral Home in Hickman was in charge of arrangements.
Pallbearers were Jon McKinnis, Joel McKinnis, Jacob McKinnis, Daniel McKinnis, Garrett Wilker-son, Tim Wilkerson and Mike Wilkerson. Honorary pallbearer was James Gray.
She was a lifelong member of West Baptist Church in Hickman.
Mrs. McKinnis is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, D.R. and Peggy McKinnis of Union City and Tony and Jane McKinnis of Leawood, Kan.; six grandchildren and the spouse of one of them, Jon and Tabitha McKinnis, Joel McKinnis and Jacob McKinnis, all of Union City, Tristan McKinnis of  Chicago and Rachel McKinnis and Daniel McKinnis, both of Leawood; a great-grandchild, Blair McKinnis of Union City; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary Joe and Dolly Wilkerson of Fulton and Bill and Jettie Wilkerson of Hickman; and her sister and brother-in-law, Peggy and  Lawrence Haney of South Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Noel and Vassie Wilkerson; her husband, Hugh E. McKinnis; three brothers, Howard Wilkerson, James B. Wilkerson and Richard Wilkerson; and four sisters, Juanita Whitten, Lavern Grissom, Ruth King and Donna Lattus.
