| Commodity distribution set for next week U.S. Department of Agriculture commodities will be distributed to eligible area residents next week. Foods will be distributed at the Northwest Economic Development Council office at 231 S. Wilson St. in Dresden from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Last names beginning with letters L-Z will pick up Wednesday, and last names starting with A-K will pick up Thursday. No number will be handed out before 7 a.m. Boxes should be brought for commodities. Eligibility will be based on total household income not in excess of the state-established maximum percentage of the poverty line for the appropriate household size. Anyone receiving aid from one of the following programs is eligible for USDA commodities: Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (formerly called food stamps), Families First, Supplemental Security Income, Low income Home Energy Assistance Program or documented resident in public housing.
