Jolley Springs Baptist Church news
Jolley Springs Baptist Church news Posted: Thursday, January 3, 2013 6:00 pm There may never in our countries’ history have been a New Years Day when they as a nation were as concerned or anxious about what tomorrow holds as we are today. Our prayer at Jolley Springs is that our country will turn back to God and that He will hear from Heaven and forgive and spare our land. Our morning service on Dec, 30 began with the baptism of Koryn and Trae Fenty, children of T. J. and Monica Dawson Fenty. Also recently Callie Vaughn, granddaughter of Lou Ann Cartwright, was baptized. It was stressed during our Sunday night service that it is our responsibility to teach and guide these children in the Lord’s way. We are excited to announce that we doubled our goal for our Lottie Moon Christmas offering. We collected $1,004 that will be used to help missionaries all over the world tell about Jesus. Bro. Tony Michael used II Corinthians 10:1-6 for his morning sermon text. In this sermon he told us that we need to remove the mental walls that we have erected that are keeping us from serving God. Sunday night Bro. Tony preached from Luke 2:41-52. His subject was “Don’t you know I must be about my Fathers’ business?” His advice to us was; Introduce as many people to Jesus each day that you can, minister to people’s need, and preach His Word by living the Word. Sympathy is extended to the family of Carol King, wife of Tommy King, who passed away and was buried at West Union. She was a sister-in-law to Neil and Dale King and Karen Radford. Hulon Moon is making slow progress following a stroke. He is in rehab at Paris. Robert and Kathy Stover and William and Rita Perkins had injuries from a wreck that happened Friday. Robert had to have surgery on his arm at Nashville. Robert Summers has recently had some tests run. Paul Crawford had minor surgery last Wednesday at Paris. Sylvia Moody is under her doctor’s care.
