County meeting set

The Obion County Budget Committee will meet 9 a.m. Monday in the basement conference room of the Obion County Courthouse in Union City.
Items on the agenda include:
• a request from the Election Commission for a budget transfer in the General Fund ($2,600);
• a recommendation of a surety bond for Mary Sue Chilcutt in the highway department;
• a proclamation honoring Charles “Chuck” Ashley upon his retirement as Veterans Service Officer;
• appointments to the following boards and committees: Agricultural Committee (now serving are Kenneth Barnes and Jennifer Davis; David Clark is to be replaced after three terms served); Budget Committee (now serving are Jerry Grady, Richard Arnold, Allen Nohsey, Terry Roberts, Ralph Puckett, Danny Jowers and Sam Sinclair); Courthouse Committee (now serving are Andy Crocker, Dean Jowers, Tim Doyle, Norma Fowler, Terry Dwyer, Roberts and Jim Bondurant); county historian (now serving is Nohsey); and Solid Waste Regional Planning Board (now serving are Bob Stephens, Ned Bigelow and Arnold)
The committee will also include consideration of Notary Public applications and other matters brought to its attention. The meeting is open to the public.
