Our Dec.23 service was opened by Bro, Bobby Peal leading “Go Tell It On the Mountains.”

Edna Johle taught adult Sunday school from Galatians 4:4,5.

We sang “Happy Birthday” to Steve Dycus. Prayer requests were made and prayed over.

Patsy Baker sang “Old Time Religion.” Mary and Shirley Bynum harmonized to “The Old Rugged Cross.”

Bro. Bobby took his message from Matthew 2:1 titled “Wishing On A Star.”

We had a wonderful program in the evening, written and programmed by Shirley Bynum.  We had many carols led by our talented singers with readings done by some of the ladies and men, with a special tribute to our men and women in the service and the song “Statue Of Liberty” played while we all stood in reverence. We finished the program with a rousing song “Come and Ring Those Bells” with Katelyn and Kristin Gearin playing the bells. Gifts were exchanged and we dismissed to our fellowship hall for all the yummy refreshments made by our gifted cooks, and that wonderful feeling that comes when Christians get together in a fellowship of love. Happy prosperous and healthy New Year to all!

Bro. Bobby Peal opened services on Dec. 30 singing “Heavens Jubilee.”

Sis. Edna Johle taught adult Sunday school from 1 Timothy 5:21.

Prayer requests were made and prayed over. Mary led “He Took My Sins Away” and “The Lily Of the Valley.” Melba Carson played and led “I Have Decided To Follow Jesus.” Patsy Baker sang “The Shepherd Of My Valley.” Melba Carson and Mary harmonized to “The Only Real Peace.” Harvey Dildine sang “For Every Cross There Is A Crown.”

Bro. Bobby took his message from Luke 2:8-1 titled, “14 words that changed the world.”

Our sing and praise service was opened with Bro. Bobby leading “Someday.” Patsy Baker sang “Step Into the Water.” Mary sang “I Claim the Blood.” Ray and Joan Lainhart sang “At Calvary.” Edna Johle sang “I’m Homesick For Heaven.” Harvey Dildine sang “Remember Me.” Many great testimonies were given to God’s glory. Bro. Bobby sang “It Is No Secret” with Bro. Harvey accompanying on the piano.

Bro. Bobby turned to Proverbs 6:16 and told the six things the Lord hates:  a proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil, a false witness who speaks lies, and the one who sows discord among brethren.

We again formed a circle at the altar and prayed for the needs of the country and our church. Thank God for His mercy and grace.
