Four people were arrested on various charges — including three related to fighting — when Union City police conducted bar checks early New Year’s Day at the Blue Marble at 1220 East Main St.
Among those charged in connection with altercations at the establishment early Tuesday were Keenan Samone Stafford, 21, of 3990 Schoolfield Cove, Memphis; Shyheim Shaquille Slayton, 18, of 2712 Hillside Drive, Union City; and Keontre Murrell, 18, of 915 South Second St., Union City.
In addition, an alcohol offense was levied against Melissa Brooke Forrest, 18, of 922 East College St., Union City, according to Union City Police Department reports.
Police were conducting a bar check at the Blue Marble about 3 a.m. when an officer entered the establishment and immediately made contact with a white female, who appeared to be highly intoxicated and under age 21, sitting by the front door. An officer reported the woman, identified as Ms. Forrest, could not produce identification and gave a birthdate in October 1990. However, further investigation revealed her birthdate is really in October 1994, police reported.
Ms. Forrest was charged with criminal impersonation and possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor.
Police reported officers were conducting a bar check about 3:45 a.m. when an altercation broke out between several individuals. Stafford allegedly had to be detained by police and was taken into custody on a charge of disorderly conduct.
Officers were inside the club about 4 a.m. when a fight allegedly broke out in the stage area, according to reports. A struggle which ensued between club patrons was broken up by police. As a result, Slayton was taken into custody and restrained in order to stop the fighting. He was charged with disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana, which stemmed from a small bag found in his pocket during a patdown.
Police allegedly observed Murrell directly involved in an altercation which broke out while officers were inside the club. He was arrested at 4:10 a.m. on a charge of disorderly conduct, according to reports.
