Mr. and Mrs. Walter Haines Sr.

GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY — Mr. and Mrs. Walter Haines Sr. of Union City will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary 2-4 p.m. Saturday with a reception at the Union City Community Center, located at 1409 East Main St. The event is being hosted by their granddaughters, Candice Southerland of South Fulton, Emily Morton of Obion and Shelley Haines of Memphis. He married the former Cora Frances Davis on Jan. 12, 1963, in Union City. She is the daughter of the late Charlie and Ruby Davis of Tennessee and is a homemaker.  He is the son of the late Archie and Veda Haines of Iowa and had worked for the City of Union City. They have two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Kara Haines of Austin, Texas, and Walter and Pam Haines of Kenton; a daughter, Tammy Morton of Union Grove, Wis.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Friends and relatives are invited to attend. The couple requests no gifts.
