BILINGUAL BUDDIES — As the culminating project for the popular Bilingual Buddies program, students from grades K-2 at Carr Elementary in Fulton and Fulton High School Spanish students met for a special Feliz Navidad celebration. The celebration was the perfect time for elementary students to showcase their new-found language skills as students demonstrated speaking and listening. Elementary students worked with high school student Tori Seng to demonstrate the art of Flamenco dancing, which had been practiced in previous weeks. The event was emceed by Fulton High School senior, Morgan Wade, who introduced representatives from the Four Rivers Scholarship Foundation, Jeff Campbell and Brenda Mahan. As part of the Rudolph’s Readers project, the foundation presented each student with a bilingual reader as a special gift. Among those who participated in the effort were (from left, front) Monica Brown, Jenni Lee, Morgan Wade, Miss Seng, Rebecca Whitesell, Tommy Aden, (back) Four Rivers Scholarship Foundation directors Campell and Ms. Mahan, Fulton High School Spanish teacher Geneva Storey, Lexi Snow, Elijah Duke, Hannah Grooms, Khalil Frame, Jordan Miller, Austin Ferrell and Carr Elementary principal Sondra Gibbs.
