Teledyne adding product line Posted: Tuesday, January 1, 2013 12:00 am Teledyne Electronic Manufacturing Services has announced the company will expand its Lewisburg manufacturing facility to accommodate a new product line. The expansion is a $9.78 million investment by the company and will create 96 new jobs at the Marshall County facility, according to a news release from the state Department of Economic and Community Development. Teledyne EMS designs, manufactures and services products for the aerospace, computer, government, industrial, medical and telecommunications markets. In Lewisburg, the company has supplied electronics to the defense and aerospace industries for more than 30 years. “The exciting part about it is that it contains a whole range of new technologies that we don’t currently perform here,” Teledyne EMS vice president and general manager Shane Green said. “This will allow us to provide a broader range of products and services to the customer base. We feel like this is going to be a strong competitive position for us and enable growth of the business over time.” The Teledyne facility in the Lewisburg Industrial Park currently houses 170,000 square feet of temperature- and humidity-controlled space and may be expanded by an additional 25,000 square feet if needed. Teledyne anticipates the hiring of 60 to 70 new employees by the middle of 2013, with the remainder to follow over five years. , |
