She was born in Columbia Jan. 22, 1923, daughter of the late Arthur Elmore and Estella (McNabb) Anderson. The family moved to Obion County in the 1930s to find better farming opportunities. She partnered with her husband of 63 years, Fred Earl Rogers, who predeceased her  May 2, 2007.
Jettie B. was loved and cherished as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a strong-willed country woman with an abiding Christian faith who loved her family and enjoyed her many friends. Together with her husband, they built a strong, stable and happy family. She worked outside the home and helped manage the farm while fulfilling her duties as a wife and mother. She was also an outstanding cook and a creative quilt maker.
She was the rock and strength of her family, was devoted to her husband and was well-respected in the community as a member of New Chapel United Methodist Church in Elbridge. She was also an active member of the Elbridge Cemetery Association.
A loving mother who raised four successful children, she cheerfully welcomed the spouses of her children into the family. She was a warm and kind grandmother who nurtured her grandchildren with pride.
She was also preceded in death by five brothers and sisters. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Martha Rogers of Water Valley, Miss.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Jo Ann and Russell Purtle of Collierville, Lynn and Ben Oberholtzer of Germantown and Carol and Bill Latimer of Union City; her granddaughter and her husband, Amanda and Gerald Glickman of Richmond, Va.; and her grandson, John Rogers of Union City.
