A pedestrian leaving the Union City JCPenney was hit after she walked into the path of a vehicle.
Witnesses told the Union City Police Department that Susan Dunday was walking from the store and going into the parking lot next to a large truck, which was parked in the fire lane. As she stepped into the lot, she was struck by a 2006 Buick driven by Janet M. Nichols.
Ms. Dunday was knocked to the ground. Medical personnel responded and she was complaining of pain in her head, side and leg area. She said she felt at the time that she did not need to be transported to the hospital.
The information filed at the police department did not give an address for either woman and no charges were noted on the report.
