Josie Phillips Posted: Wednesday, December 26, 2012 4:00 pm The Messenger, December 26, 2012 Completed arrangements are being announced for Josephine C. “Josie” Phillips, 84, of Troy, who died 3:03 a.m. Dec. 22, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Union City. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Edmaiston-Mosley Funeral Home. Matt Harris and Dr. Vann Kissell will officiate. Burial will follow in Obion County Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home 5- 8 p.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be Matt Harris, Kyle Phillips, Bill Kail, Brad Flowers, Mark Cranford, Jason Johnson, Brent Johnson, Michael Johnson and Travis Johnson. Mrs. Phillips was born July 2, 1928, in Obion County, daughter of the late Auty and Bernice (Forbus) Cranford. She married Bill Phillips Nov. 17, 1950. He died March 22, 2001. Mrs. Phillips had been employed as an inspector for the former Troy Manufacturing and was of the Methodist faith. She is survived by her daughter, Vicki Harris of Troy; her son and daughter-in-law, B.J. and Pandy Phillips of Troy; three sisters, Della Barker and Linda Smithwick, both of Union City, and Sarah Harris of Troy; two brothers, Billy Cranford of Plymouth, Mich., and Terry Cranford of Troy; four grandchildren and their spouses, Matt and Christine Harris of Rives, Allison and Bill Kail of Troy, Kyle and Ashley Phillips of Union City and Kori and Brad Flowers of Benton, Ky.; and eight great-grandchildren, Graham Harris, Belle Harris and Brynn Harris, all of Rives, Ben Harris Kail, Will Kail and Treyton Kail, all of Troy, and Colson Flowers and Lawson Flowers, both of Benton. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Larry Harris; her sister, Sammie Johnson; and her brother, Norris Cranford.
