Ashley Spain and her uncle, Tim Spain, both of Troy, worked together Saturday afternoon to sort canned goods which were placed in Chimes for Charity food baskets delivered early today to families and individuals in need across Obion County. The sorting of food and toys was completed Saturday by volunteers, followed by the packing of baskets Sunday afternoon at the Obion County bus garage in Troy. Volunteers scattered across the county this morning to deliver about 275 food baskets to less fortunate families through the Chimes program, sponsored by the Union City Jaycees and J’Cettes and supported by community contributions. The program just wrapped up its 78th year of helping those in need at Christmas.
