The Hunter Hynds Unit of United Methodist Women met at Sassafraz Restaurant in Union City with 13 members present recently.
President Chris Cheatham gave the welcome and the Rev. Judith Wolfgang offered the evening prayer and blessing prior to the meal.
Emily Haynes and Becky Barnes provided a Christmas program that opened with alternating parts in the reading of “What We Find in Jesus.”
The scripture used was Isaiah 9:2-3 and is served as a basis for the portion of the program entitled “A Divine Gift,” which expounded on the joy that Jesus offers.
Linda Winstead, soloist for the evening, supported that thought by singing “Joy to the World.”
Mrs. Haynes read a moving poem, “In His Hands,” by B.J. Hoff and Mrs. Barnes closed the program with the hope that the hearts of all would be held in His hands in the upcoming year.
Everyone enjoyed a night of fellowship. The next meeting will be Jan. 9 at 7 p.m. at Stanley’s Chapel United Methodist Church near Union City.
