FOR FOR THOUGHT — New Salem Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Dresden recently made a donation to the Weakley County Backpack Program to help alleviate child hunger in Weakley County. The check was presented by church member Jamie Gallimore (left) and backpack program community liaison Mary Margaret Chester. The mission of the Weakley County Backpack Program is to help alleviate child hunger in Weakley County by providing hungry children with nutritious and easy-to-prepare food at times when other resources are not available, such as on the weekend and school vacations. For anyone who would like to help with packing the food items for students, packing days are the first Tuesday of the month at First Baptist Church in Dresden at 1 p.m. To make a donation to the program, mail checks to the attention of treasurer Jake Bynum at P.O. Box 169, Dresden, TN 38225.
