FUMS, a Jackson-based company selling unique, interchangeable shoes, is partnering with The Greer Campaign to provide shoes for impoverished local children.
The Greer Campaign is a non-profit organization established by New Orleans Saints player and Jackson native Jabari Greer.
The campaign’s mission is to unite fathers and families.
Through the organization’s Campaign for Kids and FUMS’ PAIR for PAIR® giving program, each qualifying FUMS purchase will provide a new pair of shoes to a child in need and $5 to The Greer Campaign. To participate, purchasers must enter “GREER” in the comments section when completing a purchase at http://myfums.com.
For every 400 sets of FUMS shoes sold with “GREER” entered at checkout, not only will The Greer Campaign receive $2,000 but the two organizations will also host a shoe distribution for local children. At the event, volunteers will wash 400 young recipients’ feet and tell them how special they are, how important it is to dream big and how much they are loved.
In speaking of the partnership, Greer said, “Our partnership is important for several reasons. The most important reason is that every shoe gives back — providing shoes for children in need. The second is that it’s a way we can support local business, which is essential to our communities. Furthermore, it’s important that we are helping children right here in our own backyard.”
FUMS founder Mitch Miller added, “I feel incredibly blessed and humbled that Jabari Greer and The Greer Campaign have elected to partner with FUMS Shoes. Making a positive difference and inspiring hope in children across the United States is deeply ingrained in the DNA of both organizations. I have so much respect for Jabari because he is committed to using his platform as an NFL pro football player to make a difference in people’s lives. We believe that as partners we will make a bigger impact than we will alone, and that is what we are committed to do.”
FUMS is a faith-based, for-profit shoe company founded in 2010 by Mitch and Lisa Miller in Jackson. The company is a division of Doing His Work First.
Their mission is to spread the love of Christ and be an impetus for inspiring positive change in the lives of others.
For every set of FUMS shoes purchased, they give a pair of shoes to a child in need somewhere in the United States, PAIR for PAIR®.
Not only does each purchase meet the needs for a child but it also allows purchasers to teach their children the importance of giving.
The Greer Campaign was established in 2009 by Greer, a father of four who is passionate about supporting fatherhood — encouraging dads who are single or married to take active, loving, involved roles in their children’s lives.
The organization has four campaigns: the Campaign for Fathers, the Campaign for Kids, the Campaign for Communities and the Campaign for Change
