Fire at Tony’s Bar & Grill still under investigation

Investigators are trying to determine what started an early-morning fire at Tony’s Sports Bar & Grill.

The Martin Fire Department was dispatched to the business at 112 Lovelace Street about 4:50 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire was contained to the cooking area in the kitchen, which sustained some water damage as a result, according to Martin Fire Chief Jamie Summers.

“We’re still trying to pinpoint the cause,” Summers said.

Summers said the fire started somewhere in the kitchen appliance area, but investigators still aren’t sure how it started.

Officials were on the scene until about 9 a.m. this morning.
