UNIQUE JEWELRY — Missy and Steve Emrich, owners of Steve’s Jewelers in Union City, admired a watch once owned by John Wayne during The Singer Collection estate sale held at their store in Union City on Thursday. The unique watch, which was imprinted with “5 PM” at each hour around the dial, included the original leather wrist band. It is said that Wayne thought it was only proper to have a drink after 5 p.m., so when he was wearing that watch, it was always after 5 p.m. The sale also included items which had been owned by Cher, Les Paul, Elizabeth Taylor, Mia Farrow, Bette Midler and Bob Hope, among others. A gold hot dog commissioned by Robert Goulet for his aunt, who once gave him $10 to buy a hot dog, was among the items for sale. The Emrichs are members of the Independent Jewelers Organization, which has a working relationship with The Singer Collection, a 100-year-old company.
